The objectives of the CIED are:

1. To develop and transfer technologies in order to enhance the production of quality honey, mushroom, silk and other products related with industrial entomology throughout the country;

2. To generate employment and raise the living standard of farmers by developing self-sufficiency in honey, mushroom, silk and other products related with industrial entomology through import substitution and export promotion;

3. To promote easy access to quality inputs for the production of honey, mushroom, silk and other products related with industrial entomology;

4. To promote value addition and diversification of products related with industrial entomology; and

5. To conserve and preserve bees and other pollinator and beneficial insects for food security.
